Patch Notes: Wreckage

Patch Notes: Wreckage

Greetings pilots!

Coming December 3rd, the Wreckage Update introduces Wreckage, a brand new map for players to do battle on. The update is also filled with holiday spirit and the return of Operation: Frostburn! Players will be able to do battle on Winter Last Eco and outfit their mechs with holiday-themed customization options.

Also included in this update are some minor balance tweaks, improvements to Co-Op, and ongoing polish to existing features.

We hope everyone enjoys this update and has a great holiday season!

Special Notices
  • We've made significant improvements that should help with the high ping and lag players are currently seeing. We will continue to monitor the status of this issue and investigate as necessary.
  • Team balance logic was reworked to more accurately balance teams by skill. We will continue to monitor this and implement improvements.
  • Problems affecting social features including friends lists and voice functionality are being investigated. So far, we have determined a very large fix is necessary and are currently unable to address it at this time.
Weapons
  • Corsair-KLA
    • MIRV Projectile damage decreased from 26.25 to 23.125.
Developer's Note: We felt that the Corsair was a bit too strong when used in its MIRV firing mode. It's damage was well over every other secondary in the game and this change brings the MIRV projectile damage down to a more consistent level.
  • SA Hawkins
    • Increased damage per shot from 26 to 29.
Developer's Note: The SA Hawkins is an extremely under-utilized weapon and we want to make it a more attractive choice for players to use. This change especially helps the Brawler, giving it a useful ranged "tank" option for dealing damage to enemies and also gives Sharpshooter players a better sustained damage alternative for those who like to fight a more mid to close range battle.

Abilities
  • Fortified Turret (Brawler)
    • Increased base movement speed from 6 m/s to 8 m/s.
    • Increased boost speed from 13.5 m/s to 15 m/s.
    • Regen rate while taking damage increased from 10 armor per second to 13 armor per second.
    • Regen rate while not taking damage increased from 20 armor per second to 23 armor per second.
Developer's Note: The Brawler has been a long time favorite of players and after Ascension some of the changes did not bode well for him. To start off some reworks, this patch will see the Brawler get an over-all buff to his Fortified Turret ability, increasing his strength when holding positions and chasing down wounded enemies. This is first step in the process of improving the Brawler's effectiveness, and more adjustments are planned for the future.

Game Modes
  • Co-Op
    • The ISM Disruptor and Radar Scrambler now affect AI Bots.
    • Deaths in Co-Op no longer count towards career statistics.
    • For clarification, kills on drones and AI Bots are tracked separately and do not affect your global statistics. Assists are not tracked in Co-Op.
    • Minor improvements made to drone movement.
    • Added an intro cinematic to begin the match.
Maps
  • NEW Map: Wreckage
    • Game Modes Available: Team Deathmatch, Missile Assault, Siege, and Deathmatch.
    • Wreckage exclusive servers will be available for a limited time.
  • Winter Last Eco (Limited Time)
    • Game Modes Available: Team Deathmatch, Missile Assault, Siege, and Deathmatch.
    • Replaces Last Eco in normal map rotation for a limited time.
Customizations
    NEW Chassis Art
    • Light Mech Chassis Art
      • Moke Crab
    • Medium Mech Chassis Art
      • Hiefram Star
    • Heavy Mech Chassis Art
      • Brass Shark
    NEW Repair Drones
    • RD-L4NCET

    • Gift Wrap (Available to purchase for a limited time)

Ongoing Improvements
  • UI: Skinning, Menu Content Additions and Tweaks, Optimization
  • Maps: Collision, Environment Art, Optimization
  • Art: Textures, VFX, Animations
  • SFX: General Tweaks
Bugs Fixed
  • Magenta trim color has returned to the trim color slider.
  • On the post match results screen, mech XP shown on the Progress tab reverted to the pre-match total after XP finished adding up.
  • The Wave 15 boss in Co-Op would become bugged if a player stood on its spawn location.
  • Fixed a bug where a player's end of match earnings summary would be cut off.
  • Whenever an AI Bot was listed on the scoreboard, players could mute the bot and send it friend invites.
  • Fixed camera shaking in death cam.
  • Fixed some network data issues that were leading to higher than average ping.
  • Item and Ability displays on the cockpit would disappear if player used ALT-TAB while in fullscreen mode.
  • Fixed a bug where a dropped Repair Charge would not repair a mech if player pressed C immediately after deploying Repair Charge.
  • Fixed the issue causing no default key bindings for purchasing upgrades in Co-Op Bot Destruction.
  • Players had the ability to send game invites in VR Training and Offline TDM.
  • The Vanguard's Ability Upgrade 4 (Reduce fuel burn rate by 10% while boosting) was not functioning properly.
  • In Co-Op Bot Destruction, the previous round's EU total would sometimes appear in place of individual player stats.
  • Fixed a number of Service Awards that were not awarding Service Award points or HAWKEN Credits upon completion.
  • If a party member accepted an invite to a match that could not be joined, they would receive an indefinite Connecting screen.
  • If a party member accepted an invite to a completed match while in the middle of a different match, they would receive a Leaving Party screen with no option to cancel.
  • In Co-Op Bot Destruction, teammates and stats were not listed in the Team Composition scoreboard during active gameplay.
  • The T2 paint job was being automatically equipped to some mechs.
  • If a player left an unbalanced match before anyone was switched, the chat log would indicate the leaving player had switched teams.
  • Added more clarity to certain error messages.
  • In Co-Op Bot Destruction, a revive prompt appeared for players who had not yet selected a mech in the staging area.
  • If a weapon was unlocked in the mech rank window, that weapon would be shown as equipped even if it wasn't.
  • The "Volunteer to Switch Teams" prompt was not appearing when any menu window was being viewed.

Is there seriously no failsafe nerf?

doesn't mean one won't happen.. but that is something they need to see play out more and get more numbers on to adjust. Just blinding changing things because they are an issue could easily just make more issues.

Besides, this could get easily fix and a hotfix, not something requiring a huge update.

Word to devs, we don't care about brawler turret mode, we don't use it so stop pushing for it. Fix the underlining problems with it
Remember  you guys said  about  new methods to organize games coming soon (when you removed  party joining)?
derp wrong weapon
Yaaay I already want to see that new map! :) And frost eco hell yeah!

But devs... no nerf for hellfire tracking? and whats up with the broken internals( Failsafe, fuel converter )

I dont know how to feel :T
Weren't the Cupcake parts supposed to be made available to equip on other C classes this patch? What's going on with that?

Can't wait to see -and when I say can't wait to see I mean CAN'T WAIT TO SEE- and play on the new maps at full throttle!! :D
Great stuff, one quick question, have you fixed the Predator vision bug?
Yeah MIRV needed a slight nerf, but 25 damage? Now it does the same damage as hellfires, but only at a max of 70 meters. It's no secret that I'm a bit biased towards raider, but this nerf is too heavy. Now what do I have to combat failsafe abusers?
I was expecting more balancing with mechs and weapons.

I R Sad.
This is concerning.  I understand that patches are usually locked for weeks prior to an update, but overdue balance changes should be expedited.  Warframe updates daily and Path of Exile sometimes updates twice daily.  Why can't Hawken?

The failsafe was buffed from 60% to 90% in the Invasion patch.  [HWK]Van even stated, publicly, that the buff was probably unnecessary.  Same with the Hellfires.  I don't quite understand the design processes... I think some attention needs to be geared towards the establishment of quick, daily hotfixes that can be used to correct certain... errors.

I know for a fact that many players are waiting until a failsafe nerf to return to Hawken.  I haven't been playing nearly as much due to the recent (unnecessary) Hellfire and Failsafe buffs.
Are those seriously the only weapon tweaks? And no item, mech (besides to brawler), or internal tweaks? And even if there are some but just aren't being showed, why? The communication on these things was progressing so well.

^this^

What happen to the weekly/bi-weekly balanced patches we used to have. They worked so well.
Why buff movement speed only in Turret Mode for the Brawler???  No one is going to play the mech with its current movement speed.  Increase the movement speed a tiny bit and people will play it again.  Turret mode is suicide and not a smart way to play Hawken. In Hawken it is very important that a player can dodge the enemies secondary's more often than they get hit with them.  Even for a C class like the brawler.
In the Weekly Development updates it was mentioned a couple of times that the upcoming patch would be ""content heavy", so why is everybody so surprised it is indeed content heavy, and not focusing on balancing and bug fixing?

It is my belief that upcoming patches should focus much more on balance and functionality.
And if you're going to add new content, how about a new C-Class already?

They did mention before they were working on another mech at the same time as the predator. We'll probably see it in the next patch.

Some of you guys seem disapointed.  I completely agree balance is needed, but some of the content sounds awesome, especially a new map!

Developers:  Thanks for the continued updates on this great and free game!  And please listen to the community for balance changes, we can make your job easier.  I gaurnatee we play more than the programmers!
I look forward to the content but some of the more alarming balance issues (such as the failsafe) should have been... dare I say... a priority?

Yes, I am dissapointed. How do you expect me to enjoy the new features if playing the game is a pain in the ass with all the unbalanced stuff? Not to offend anybody on the devs side; with all due respect, I understand theres a small team behind all this that works their ass off to bring us cool stuff. But please, dont saturate us with content until you fix the balancing issues. Yes I know new map, drones etc is cool; but I seriously can't enjoy the game with the broken internals, server issues, crashes and so on. Seriously, it seems like you are nerfing what does'nt need to be nerfed and buffing what doesnt needs a buff. Turret mode buff? I can think about the amount of times turret mode is actually useful and I would probably say 2 out of 10. It seems to me like you are focusing on the look of the game rather than in the mechanics; yes it looks pretty but that doesn't make me feel better when everything is unbalanced. I really feel we are going backwards rather than forward with this game, im sorry to be negative but thats what I think.

No offense intended, its just my opinion.
